If you got here, you probably know what my website is, but just in case, it is BrianDOLeary.com.  That page is pretty much a place-holder right now, and I don’t know when or if I plan on putting more emphasis on this blog area of the site.

I recently became a member of BleacherReport.com, a sports journalism site.  Click here for my profile.
Having attempted a few go-rounds at the blogging thing, I am back at it again.  The scope here will be focused upon, though not entirely limited to, submissions I have made to various publications.  I anticipate this narrower scope will, in turn, produce more work for the blog.  Certainly, not all of the work will get published in the mainstream press, but that is the beauty (and, at times, the ugly side) of the blog format.

A little more about me…

I live in Portland, Oregon, also known by some as its future, but not yet official, name: Samadamsgrad, Jeffmerkleystan.

I am a graduate of Boston College and am an unabashed BC Eagles fan.  From my eight years of study in high school and college, I have come to realize that all education should be Jesuit-run if the world is to be a better place.  Dissenters–fine people though they may be–are nothing more than wrong on this subject.

I am a big Trail Blazers fan and think Kevin Pritchard should run for President of the United States some day and win, no matter his politics.  Though I haven’t figured out what our franchise will do without him, our country would be truly awesome again if he was seated in the Oval @ 1600.

I am generally a good-hearted bloke, albeit salty at times, and an erstwhile actor (perhaps looking for another shot at glory via the small or silver screen).

Finally, in case one has not noticed (and please do), my standards are much higher than the piddling life I lead.
